I founded YOU for Uttarakhand — an initiative that helped people affected by the Uttarakhand floods in India through a series of music concerts. Unlike most relief concerts, this one ran entirely on goodwill.
All proceeds including ticket sales and other activities were donated to our NGO Partner Save The Children who were dedicated to providing quality relief to the children and families affected by the horrific Uttarakhand disaster.
The first in the series of the YOU For Uttarakhand concerts took place on the 8th of August, 2013 at blueFROG, Mumbai. We had performances by leading artists from India.
MTV ACT partnered with the YOU For Uttarakhand initiative to help amplify our reach. MTV ACT & YOU For Uttarakhand hosted concerts in New Delhi at blueFROG and at Counter Culture in Bangalore.
A total of Rs.250,000 ($3000) was donated to Save the Children at the end of the series of concerts. And TedX Mumbai tweeted about my efforts.
